Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. This annual event is always held the third Friday in January to coincide with Louisiana’s tree-planting season.

Arbor Day

This is a great family event where you can plant a tree, enjoy a scavenger hunt, meet Smokey Bear, and more! When you plant a tree, you can take home your tree’s GPS coordinates so you can visit it again and watch it grow over time. All trees planted in the Burden Woods help to reforest the native trees lost during previous hurricane seasons. Local food trucks will also be on-site!

The event is free and open to the public! Wear rubber boots, gloves, and dress warmly!

1,000 Tree Giveaway
Baton Rouge Green will be there for their annual 1,000 tree native and beneficial tree giveaway. Come early to get a tree - they are given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
